The Approach of the Czech Employers to Workers 50+ Compared to the Key Ideas of Selected International and National Strategic Documents

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse the key ideas of currently valid international and national documents in the area of employment of older workers, and then on the basis of empirical investigation assess whether the practices of Czech employers correspond with the ideas of these documents. The work is divided into four parts. The introductory part deals with the specifics of older workers, including a description of the current demographic situation in the country. The second part presents the main ideas of the essential strategic documents in the area of assertion of people older than fifty years in the labour market. The third compares the results of the most recent national surveys with the key ideas of analysed documents. The last part, qualitative research, focuses on the attitude of selected Czech employers towards workers 50+, compares the extracted key ideas of the most important strategic documents in the field of active aging in employment with genuine personnel practices of selected employers. The last chapter also verifies compliance of results of own research with the survey findings presented in the national researches. The Employment of Seniors in Relation to their Claim on Old-aged Pensions

The current trend of demographic aging can be alleviated by extending the working activity of older workers and seniors. In this thesis the attention is focused on the relationship between the employment of older people and setting of the pension scheme, since both affect the behaviour of older workers and seniors. The aim of this thesis was to find out the level of employment support of older workers and seniors, and to describe not only the view of seniors, who continue with work after their claim on old-aged pension but also attitudes of the potential employers on this group of workers. Secondary data analysis with emphasis on foreign experience and qualitative interviews supplemented by quantitative research were used as research methods. The research has shown that the pension system does not motivate older people to delay retirement, the level of education in old age is undersized and the awareness of current trends and opportunities in the field of seniors employment is missing.

Ptáčková, T. Age management and its impact on business activities in a selected company. Bachelor thesis. Brno: Mendel University in Brno, 2017. This bachelor thesis focuses on prospective solutions of an aging work force from the point of view of a selected business corporation. The starting point is age management concept, modern method of human resources management consid-ering the employees age, abilities and potential. The aim of the thesis is to suggest and recommend ways of application of age management, and to evaluate the ef-fective costs of the implementation. The key chapter consists of an analysis of in-ternal company environment, which is examined by interviews with management members and a questionnaire survey among the employees. The result of the re-search has proved the interest in age management implementation by a lot of employees. All the proposed solutions are based on the starting situation in the company and the way of managing the human resources and age structure of the employees. Coming up to the conclusion all limitations and factors which could have influence in my end proposal, have been mentioned.

Analysis of Older Workers Labour Market in the Czech Republic During the Years 2005-2015

Czech Republic, like other European developed countries, has to deal with impacts of population ageing. The number of older people in society grows therefore the drain on workers in productive age is rising. Population ageing causes problems within current setting of the Czech pension system, especially in long-term sustainability of public finance. Hence added involvement of elderly people into working process becomes necessary. The goal of this Masters thesis is to analyse the situation of older workers on Czech labour market between 2005 and 2015 and to find some possible solutions that would increase the employment rate of people before and in retirement age. There are four chapters in the theoretical part that are dealing with population ageing, labour market, specificities of employing older workers and tools used to increase the employment rate. The practical part is focused on demographic situation in the Czech Republic and especially on analysis of the situation of older workers on the Czech labour market in comparison to countries of the European Union. Analysis that was carried out confirms that the overall employment rate of older workers in the Czech Republic is on a good level however there are some areas that need to be improved. For example, option of using part time working contracts is underused as well as the motivation of elderly people to stay economically active. In the last chapter there are possible solutions suggested. These recommendations could strengthen motivation of older workers to stay on labour market and in the same time should motivate employers to employ these workers.
Older workers in the labour market

The thesis is dealing with the older workers in the labour market. The aim of this thesis is to analyse and evaluate the situation of the older workers in the labour market in the Czech Republic, especially in the years 2000 and 2005-2015, or even in 2015, with the focus on the indicators of the labour market, on the position of the older workers in this market according to selected aspects, and on the instruments affecting and encouraging these workers in the labour market. The thesis consists of the theoretical and the practical part. The theoretical part defines the problem of the demographic aging population, because this process is one of the reasons, why it is necessary to pay attention to the older workers in the labour market. This theoretical part is also dealing with the employment, unemployment, employment policy and strategic documents in relation to the older workers. The practical part begins with the demographic development in the Czech Republic, the following chapters are dealing with the analysis of the labour market indicators, instruments to support the older workers in the labour market and the comparison of the Czech Republic and EU states.
Labour market of the Czech Republic in the connection with an aging population in respect of persons aged 50 years and over

The diploma thesis deals with a population aging and the issue of employment of older people in the Czech Republic. Most developed countries, including the Czech Republic face to the aging of the population. This unfavourable demographic progress leads to social and economic problems. Employment of older people is more and more important. The aim of this work is to assess the employment of older workers in the Czech Republic, to outline its expected development with using forecasts of the Czech Statistical Office and propose possible measures that would contribute to its increase. The results of the analysis show that the population in the Czech Republic is rapidly aging and according to the forecasts it will further continue in future. The possible solution could be to apply principles of the age management. These measures should help to increase the employment rate of older people. There are measures relating to the education, working conditions, flexible employment as well as safety and health care at work. According to the measurement results LEA, interest in the problems of elderly people and their position in the labor market has recently increased and the concept of the age management has became familiar in companies, but still it is not sufficient part of the HR strategies within an organization.
Older workers in the labour market

The main goal of this diploma thesis is to analyze and evaluate the situation of older workers on the labour market in the Czech republic, where the population is aging, the population in age category 15-50 is descending and the average life expectancy is growing. These negative events lead, because of economical and social reasons, to the need to stimulate employment of older persons. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains the characteristics of the basic terms for the field of employment of older workers and a description of the present demographic situation, along with its prediction. Practical part contains a chapter with selected economic indicators that describe and explain the situation of older persons on the labour market. The practical part also includes a chapter with consenquences of the expected demographic trends on the labour market of the Czech republic. Then there are included the chapters devoted to comparsion of European countries and for selected states there are given practical examples in addressing the issue of employing of older workers. In the final part there are suggested possible solutions for the situation of older workers.
Employment of people over fifty years old in Czech Republic and sustainability of the first pillar of pension system

The diploma thesis is focused on issues concerning employment of elderly people in the Czech Republic. The thesis contains main theoretical resources including demographic predictions. Furthermore analyzes macroeconomic context and the causes of employment development of people over fifty years old in last ten years. In last chapter there are described method of calculation of pension benefit, retirement age, revenues and expenses of pension system and its sustainability. This thesis verifies hypothesis that increasing retirement age could solve the sustainability problem of first pillar of pension system. In conclusion, the results of the research are evaluated.
